Published on September 6, 2024 -

APL Data Center is now a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact. Through this signature, we materialize our commitment to integrate the ten principles of this compact into our company's strategy, culture, and daily activities. This adherence marks a new step in structuring our CSR approach.

We are proud to announce our adherence to the United Nations Global Compact, a call to companies worldwide to align their operations and strategies with 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption:

Human Rights

1/ Promote and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights
2/ Make sure not to be complicit in human rights abuses.

Labor Standards

3/ Uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
4/ Eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
5/ Contribute to the effective abolition of child labor;
6/ Contribute to the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

Environment

7/ Support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
8/ Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility;
9/ Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anti-Corruption

10/ Work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

We are committed to promoting this approach among our employees, clients, suppliers, and partners. Each year, we will renew our commitment and publish a communication for our stakeholders detailing our initiatives and progress made on these ten principles.

About the Global Compact

Launched in 2000 at the initiative of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies worldwide to align their operations and strategies with 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

Its mission is to guide and support the global business community in promoting the goals and values of the United Nations through responsible corporate practices. With over 24,000 companies, based in more than 167 countries and 61 local networks, it is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.

The Global Compact is also the starting point for any organization seeking to embrace and support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted in September 2015. These goals constitute a universal agenda to be implemented by 2030 to collectively build the future of our societies.

The official local relay of the United Nations Global Compact, the Global Compact Network France, brings together over 2,000 French companies and 100 organizations committed to advancing their CSR approach within this framework. It is also mandated by the UN to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals by the French economic sector.
