Context and objectives of the assignment

The Swiss municipality relied on APL to define its needs and manage the project to create two new modular rooms: a main room and a backup room (DR).

Replace obsolete IT rooms with modern, energy-efficient rooms
Improve service continuity by implementing a main room and a DR room, around twenty kilometres apart

Client benefits

Design of a modular IT room of the ‘box-in-a-box’ type for the main room, and a container-type room (located outdoors) for the backup IT room
Project monitoring and overall coordination by APL through to full completion
High level of energy efficiency, regardless of the room load rate and the time of year, with technical innovation: cooling of the main room using free cooling via Lake Geneva water (PUE: 1.2), and of the DR room using indirect free cooling (PUE: 1.4)
