APL supports Terrinnov in creating a regional data center as part of a sustainable territory project

As part of a development concession, the local public company Territoire d’Innovation (Terrinnov) was mandated by the Communauté de communes du Pays de Gex to develop a 65-hectare urban development zone (ZAC) in the municipality of Ferney-Voltaire, in the immediate vicinity of Geneva International Airport, the international organizations district, and CERN. Located on the French-Swiss border, this new low-environmental-impact economic development zone is part of the Greater Geneva project.

Context and objectives of the assignment

APL was commissioned by Terrinnov to study the feasibility of establishing a data center whose waste heat will supply an anergy network to heat residential and commercial buildings in the new Ferney-Genève Innovation district. After validating the technical and economic feasibility of establishing a data center, APL is supporting Terrinnov in selecting a hosting professional to operate this data center.
