With APL, MACIF reduces its overall electricity consumption by 30% over one year

Macif has a 470 m² (usable floor area) data center built at the end of 2010 and commissioned in mid-2011. As part of its owner's project assistance mission, during the site design, the target PUE was set at 1.7 at 45% IT load. Once commissioned, the room did not reach 45% but 30% load, resulting in a measured PUE of 2.3.

Committed to the energy efficiency of its data centers, Macif called on APL to minimize the site's energy consumption while improving its level of service continuity.

  • IT room urbanization: aligning cooling systems with IT needs, creating air containment, redirecting air flows, modifying air return and supply zones in the room, and repositioning racks
  • Optimization of the installation's operating parameters: capacity status, shutting down air conditioning units, calculating the load rate, optimizing control parameters and the chilled water system, etc.
