Atos and APL Data Center selected by UGAP for its new contract for “Consulting and Project Management Assistance for Computer Rooms”
This contract aims to optimize the performance of public sector computer rooms and data centers and reduce their energy consumption. Atos, a world leader in digital transformation, and APL Data Center, a specialist in consulting and engineering for data center design and construction, have been selected by UGAP, France’s leading public procurement agency, as part of the new “Consulting and Project Management Assistance for Computer Rooms” contract. This three-year contract is renewable twice for six months by tacit agreement.
This contract offers public players audit, study and support services to optimize the technical performance of computer rooms, while reducing their operating costs and environmental impact.
In a context where the complexity of technical environments requires ever more advanced skills and the increase in business uses requires 24/7 operation, Atos and APL Data Center provide essential know-how to IT departments and computer room operators in the public sector.
The new contract supports them in the design and structuring of their computer rooms. This will ensure they make the right technical, sustainable and scalable choices to avoid over- or under-sizing and to optimize operating costs.
Enriched with new work units, particularly for project management assistance services, the UGAP contract provides solutions tailored to the needs of local authorities, hospitals and higher education and research establishments aiming to improve the performance and security of small or medium-sized computer rooms.
As major players in the public sector, recognized for their commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of companies and administrations, Atos and APL Data Center offer a simple and flexible operating framework. Leveraging their complementary expertise, they deliver services throughout the country, including the French overseas departments and territories.
Atos and APL Data Center evaluate the behavior of infrastructures and their components to identify optimization solutions that support a more responsible digital world. These include energy performance audits, greenhouse gas emission assessments and support for implementing energy improvement initiatives.
“Through this contract, we are responding to four essential objectives of the public sector: digital sobriety, performance, reliability and security of infrastructures, and finally, risk management,” says Laurent Laffere, Director of the public sector and defense market, Atos France. “We are proud to put our technological and consulting expertise at the service of a public purchasing center such as UGAP.”
“Alongside Atos, we are proud of the trust placed in us by UGAP in this strategic market. For APL, this renewed contract is an illustration of our long-standing commitment to public stakeholders. Through our expertise in computer rooms and data centers, we support them in meeting the fundamental challenges of digitalization and reducing the environmental impact of IT while improving performance and sustainability throughout the country,” says Tristan Richard, Managing Director of APL Data Center.
“This new contract offers new services designed to support IT departments and computer room operators in their most transformative projects. This offer allows them to optimize, redesign or make their server rooms more reliable while implementing a responsible digital approach,” says Alexandra Bastien, IT and telecom product manager at UGAP.
