Third location in Europe: APL Data Center opens a new office in Spain
APL Data Center, the French leader in consulting and engineering specializing in the design and construction of data centers, announces the opening of its Spanish branch in Madrid. This opening is part of an expansion strategy aimed at supporting its edge and hyperscaler customers across the European continent.
Strategic expansion in line with the group’s European ambitions
After Switzerland and Italy, Spain becomes the third European country where APL Data Center is consolidating its presence. This new opening is a key step in the implementation of the Impact 2027 strategic plan, which confirms the company’s ambition to become the leading European pure player in data center engineering. It strengthens its ability to intervene throughout the entire life cycle of critical European infrastructures, from design and deployment to the maintenance of high-performance solutions.
Spain, a strategic market at the heart of European digital growth
Driven by exceptional investment momentum, Spain is establishing itself as one of Europe’s most promising digital hubs. According to the Spain DC association, the national data center market is expected to attract €58 billion in investment by 2030. Madrid is already posting growth rates higher than those of the main “FLAP” capitals (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris), confirming its role as a major hub for cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
A new foothold for enhanced capacity in Europe
Based in Madrid and led by Julien Humblot, Head of Southern Europe at APL Data Center, the Spanish team already has two employees and is expected to reach 12 by the end of 2026.
With recognized expertise in project management and engineering that places the environmental dimension at the heart of its approach, it is laying the foundations for solid development in the Iberian market and is already participating in several strategic initiatives alongside local and international partners.
